What Is Marriage For?

Feb 15, 2026    Joseph Rangel

Marriage is one of the most desired and misunderstood relationships in our culture. Many people enter it hoping for happiness, fulfillment, or emotional stability—but Scripture reveals a deeper purpose. In Genesis 2, we discover that marriage was designed not simply to make us happy, but to form us into people of love.

In this message, we explore God’s original design for marriage: friendship, shared calling, intimacy, family, and ultimately formation. When we understand what marriage is for, it changes how we pursue it, how we endure hardship, and how Jesus uses relationships to remake us from the inside out.
